Closing Of The Bones Ceremony
The Closing of the Bones is a sacred postpartum rite a ceremonial way to honor and support this return. Through warm oil massage, rebozo wrapping, and intentional space holding, the body is gently “closed,” the womb is acknowledged, and the nervous system is nourished.
This ceremony helps integrate the birth experience, release stored emotions, and bring a sense of wholeness and containment back to the mother. It’s a moment to be held, witnessed, and deeply nurtured.
Whether you are weeks, months, or years postpartum, this ceremony can offer profound healing. Every mother deserves to feel a sense of completion, reverence, and love for the journey she’s walked.
The ceremony is usually about 2.5-3 hours
What the Ceremony Includes:
Opening Meditation & Intention Setting
We begin with a grounding meditation and gentle breathwork to connect you to your body, your womb, and your heart. This is your time to slow down and be fully witnessed. We set intentions for healing, closure, and renewal.
Aromatherapy & Herbal Support
Throughout the ritual, we use calming essential oils and warming herbs to support nervous system regulation and deepen the sensory experience.
Bodywork & Abdominal Massage
You are supported through gentle, nurturing touch using warm oils and slow, intentional massage especially around the hips, womb space, and abdomen. This helps release stored tension, stimulates lymphatic flow, and brings warmth and circulation to the postpartum body.
Rebozo Wrapping (The “Closing”)
Using traditional woven rebozos, your body is gently rocked, held, and wrapped at key points (head, shoulders, womb, pelvis, knees, feet).
Integration & Rest
We end with time for rest, journaling, and tea. You are given space to share, cry, laugh, or simply receive. The intention is not just physical recovery but emotional integration and reconnection to self.
